Our WinesThe European-styled terraced terrain of the DelFosse Winery provides unique wine-growing conditions. Our team of viticulturists and winemakers approach the challenges of the terrain with creativity, experience and passion. The DelFosse Winery currently has eleven varietals planted: Chardonnay, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Manseng, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Chambourcin. Most of these wines are aged in French oak barrels, though the Viognier and Petit Manseng are aged in stainless steel to preserve the aromatic flavors of the grape.

Nose – A rich, intensely aromatic wine with bright hints of pineapple, honey and lemon peel. Taste – This complex blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc with a touch of Viognier and Petit Manseng shows bright acidity with rich citrus, and spice up front, and lemon on the finish. This elegant, well balanced wine exhibits a long finish with a bouquet of pineapple, peach, coconut and apricot well integrated with soft oak. A great example of a blend that expresses the Virginia terroir. Food Pairing – A great wine with seafood and shellfish. This wine is extremely food friendly and will also pair well with lobster and poultry in richer and creamier sauces or with pork and turkey dishes.

Taste – The richness of the peach and dried apricot match nicely with the acidity and a touch of fennel. Very expansive on the palate, with a finish that does not quit. This is a wine that expresses the nature of the Viognier grape with its power and intensity.

Bottled in April 2008. Released in May 2008. A rare grape variety made in the tradition of the Southwest of France (Jurancon). This is a unique wine that expresses tropical notes with plenty of weight and structure.
Nose – Wonderful aromas of grilled pineapple and citrus with a hint of hazelnut. The wine is dense with pear and honey notes.
Taste – On the attack it is rich and has a bold character that is backed by a crisp finish that has a hint of caramel and spice. This wine is very concentrated and shows the uniqueness of the Petit Manseng.
Food Pairing – An ideal match for cheese and fondue. This will age nicely for three to six years.

Nose – Orange blossom and peaches aromas jump out of the glass.
Taste – An easy going style with a light structure and with very rich and soft finish. Soft and approachable on the palate with a hint of spice on the finish makes this wine a pleasing summer quaffer. This wine can be served cold. It does not have a lot of tannins.
Food Pairing – This very approachable wine pairs well with many different foods. Ideal for meats, cheeses, hamburgers, pizzas and pasta.

The wine is very floral with dense fruit flavors and soft round tannins which make it a great companion for most types of cuisine.
Nose – The intensely concentrated aromas of black cherry, lavender, earth, blackberry and sweet toast are complex and pleasing. They offer an enticing entree to what is a one of the best wines of the vintage.
Taste – The flavors are just as concentrated, packed with dark fruits, tar, licorice and a hint of toast. The tannins are mature, but responsible for adding structure and balance to the fruit. Hints of leather and spice make this a very balanced and complex wine. This is a complete wine that offers fruit, depth and structure.
Food Pairing – A great match for grilled meats, game and strong cheese, this is a wine that can be enjoyed now and over the next five years.

Nose – Aromas of blackberry, vanilla and a hint of violets with a touch of toast.
Taste – This full bodied wine carries firm but mature tannins with pleasing flavors of berries and plum. The oak aging adds a slight toast and vanilla nuance, but does not over power. The depth, structure and acid balance, proves that this is a unique variety for Virginia and is capable of long term aging.
