Neutral French oak fermented; released August 19, 2020.

Our 2017 Chardonnay Reserve is barrel fermented in neutral oak to give a bit of weight to the wine, but not imparting lots of oaky flavor. A bright acidity is maintained, and a balanced citrusy and nutty profile allows this to be a very versatile and elegant Chardonnay.

The wine is very floral with dense fruit flavors and soft round tannins which make it a great companion for most types of cuisine. The intensely concentrated aromas of black cherry, lavender, earth, blackberry and sweet toast are complex and pleasing. They offer an enticing entree to what is a one of the best wines of the vintage. The flavors are just as concentrated, packed with dark fruits, tar, licorice and a hint of toast. The tannins are mature, but responsible for adding structure and balance to the fruit. Hints of leather and spice make this a very balanced and complex wine.
